At The Hattic we specialise in made-to-measure hats that will last you a lifetime. We’re custom hat makers with over 30 years of experience. We can build a hat from a cloth or leather of your choice, depending on suitability. From the moment it is received, we aim to process your order on or within twenty days, with Free UK Delivery for orders over £100.
Dealing directly with you – the hat lover – helps us keep costs low and quality high. Our collection of Custom Hats are all handmade especially for you when an order is placed. If you want to make an alteration or for us to create your own design, that’s okay too. Tell us what you want and we will look after it from start to finish.
Each hat is also available with a customised monogram embroidered into the lining. Simply choose the ‘Monogrammed’ option when ordering your hat, and let us know what you’d like to write!

Making Heads Happy Since 1989
Trading from a sunny Hattic in Brighton UK, we have been making heads happy worldwide since 1989. Today, our hats are sitting on happy heads everywhere from Texas to Denmark. See some of our hats atop their happy owners, we are only as good as our last hat, so we welcome feedback. Leave us a hat review, to have your say.
We offer craft, style, comfort and durability. Our hats are hand cut and hand stitched to provide a custom fit. They are constructed in leather, cotton, canvas, tweed and other chanced upon materials – which means we make lots of one-offs and short runs of certain models. Properly looked after, your Hattic hats will last a lifetime.
We offer a range of materials sizes, colours and linings so that each custom hat really is personal to you. From order we aim to deliver your unique handmade hat to you within three weeks.
Struggling to size your noggin? It’s better for accuracy of measurement if you ask someone to do this for you. So, using a tape measure of plastic or cloth, measure the circumference of your head just above the top of the ears and just above the brow. Make sure the tape lies midway on your occipital bone (the small bone in the centre at the back of your head). Make it a firm measurement, not too tight or loose. Let it sit how you’d like the hat to sit.
If you are measuring up for a leather hat, we will account for the inevitable give in the leather after a few wears of the hat. This hat does need to be a snug fit at first to allow for the give.
